I have spoken to the students today to let them know what happened, but I wanted to touch bases again with the parents.
Leaving work yesterday, I locked my keys and work bag in my trunk accidentally. I do not have the spare key. After over an hour trying to get into my car last night with the help of a few other teachers, I was given a ride home. In my trunk with my keys was my laptop, tablet, and the materials for the video. Mrs. Traster, the second Math 6 teacher, was kind enough to go home and record a video. The link to her study guide video is now in the Videos tab and also the Assignments tab. Because of this issue that was no fault of the students, I gave them a few pieces of assistance during the test today:
- using their textbook
- a sheet I made for each student that has the textbook page numbers to the different skills that are being assessed. This way the use of the textbook is maximized and efficient.
- their notes, such as the inequality "cheat sheet" I made for them last week
- a calculator and the study guide in case it did help them, though they didn't see the video for the answers
Thank you for your understanding!!!
